The project “The Role of Health Tourism in Improving the Competitive Strength of the Rural Areas in Hungary and Croatia” is a transborder project which aims to define factors necessary for the improvement of the competitive strength of the rural transborder area through health tourism.
Final Conference of The Project "The Role of Health Tourism in Improving the Competitive strength of Rural Areas in Hungary and Croatia"
On 28 June 2011 the final conference of the project "The Role of Health Tourism in Improving the Competitive Strength of Rural Areas in Hungary and Croatia", funded by the IPA transborder programme Hungary-Croatia, was held in St Martin Spa & Sport Resort. The project was implemented by the Regional Development Agency Međimurje (REDEA do.o.) as the Croatian partner, and the Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency from Siófok as the leading Hungarian partner.

Nakon službenog konferencijskog dijela pripremili smo i radionicu o zdravstvenom i wellness-turizmu.
Health tourism is one of the oldest specific types of tourism in Croatia. It connotes the use of comparative natural and healing advantages arising out of the climate, with the purpose of maintaining and improving one’s health and quality of life. The basis of health tourism is the use of natural healing factors that can come from the sea, spa, or climate.
